I am a big fan of the old Justice League and Justice League Unlimited cartoons, so for me, the best Green Lantern is John Stewart. Although from the 90s comics, I have a soft spot for Guy Gardner.

The Silver Surfer for Strands of Fate

One of my favorite characters ever, it’s Surfy!

This was a tricky writeup. There’s no equivalent in Strands of the old Advanced Marvel Super Heroes ‘Power Stunt’, but I think it’s fair to allow a PC to flex their powers in new and different ways just by spending a Fate Point. This also allows characters to use Powers they maybe didn’t have a budget for, that they don’t actually use in the fiction that much, and/or that Strands doesn’t actually have stats for.

One example of such a Power is PC-capable non-vehicle FTL flight. In many ways, FTL flight is just an extension of the Fate fractal; your campaign extends through space? Okay, spend a Fate Point and tell me how you’re getting to the next star system. Done, simple.

Another thing I’ve been hand-waving away with a lot of PC writeups is secret identities. You don’t have to buy the Alias Advantage to have a secret ID, of course, and many of these characters don’t really need the extra Aspects, so I don’t think there’s a real need. If you really want, though, you can tweak the characters I post so they have a the Alias Advantage. I’d love to see alternate versions of any of these characters.

The Surfer is an absolute monster in terms of points. A lot of his Powers could probably be folded back into Control (Cosmic Energy), but many of them he can just do, easily, so it doesn’t seem right that he should need to roll for them and risk failure.
